How do I book a session?

Head over to the next steps page. Here you can fill out a brief form which will tell me some more about you. I'll respond with an email of a quote and details for your session and we can book the session or a consult call to chat more details!

Do I need to pay a retainer fee?

Yes! I require a retainer at the time of booking. This fee is subtracted from the total cost of the session. The retainer fee is only refundable if I have to cancel (which I've never done before).

How long will it take until I get to see my photos?

I always try and get the photos back to my clients as soon as possible. For a photo session you can expect* photos within 14-18 days after the shoot. For a wedding, you can expect* a small preview within 24 hours and the rest of the photos 4-6 weeks after the big day.

*unless otherwise arranged with photographer

What should I wear to the photo session?

I have a blog post on just this!
Here is the link

Bottom line. Be you and feel free to text me pics of your outfits.

I got you!

Do I need to tip?

I was hesitant to write a response to this FAQ as I don't want to appear tacky but I get this question from others regularly so whether you hire me or not, here's some things keep in mind: A wedding photographer should be tipped as all wedding vendors are. For a photo session I never expect a tip but they are commonplace and I am very thankful for them. Although, I personally insist that you wait to tip me until after you've received your photos from me; that way you can tip me in your appreciation of the actual product. But that's just me!

How many photos do I get back?

My current policy is to send back as many photos that turn out well. Seriously. For context, most photographers I have worked with send back a certain number of photos depending on how much you pay. Honestly, no matter how beautiful you are, there is no reason for me to keep a bunch of photos of you that you don't get to have yourself! Because of this, the number of photos you receive is largely based on how long we spend shooting (I average about 100 photos per hour - for a standard photo session this means around 200 photos).

How do I receive my photos?

All photos will be sent digitally unless requested otherwise. I upload photos to a Google photos album and send them to your email. You will be able to download all of your photos from there and be able to send a link of this album to anyone you'd like.

Why do you charge what you do?

I regularly compare my prices to other local photographers with similar style and expertise and strive to charge in comparison. That also includes what I think is reasonable, while always trying to provide more value than any other photographer you will ever work with.

My prices do change overtime as I continue to get more experience and gain education on photography and business.
I'll be real with you: While I consider myself to be affordable and less expensive than my community of other photographers, I'm not cheap but my work isn't either.

Please also keep in mind with any photographer you work with, that you are not just paying for the 1-2 hours you're with them for your session, but the countless hours of communication, preparation beforehand, and editing/creating an album for you after the session has long been over.

I want to work with you but can't afford it. Can you help with that?

First of all, I totally and completely get it, this is why I've always offered payment plans for any session over $250.

I occasionally offer sales on social media so make sure you're following along to catch those offers and keep a look out for my mini session days where you can book a photo shoot at less than half the cost of a full length session for 20 minutes.
